As a Technical Animator at Arrowhead, you are a part of the “AI / Enemy Team” (a.k.a. ‘The A Team’). We are a multidisciplinary team consisting of Artists, Programmers, Designers, Animators, Audio designers and VFX artists as we are responsible for the full development of all enemies, characters, vehicles, assets and AI in our project. We work closely together with other teams in our studio. It’s your job to pioneer new animation tech by helping our animators focus on their work while you focus on exploratory animation, scripting animation tools and prototyping new tech! 

Your contribution

As a Technical Animator your main tasks responsibilities are:

  • Set-up and own the conventions of animation controllers, systems, solutions and rigging tech;
  • Design and implement animation state machines and runtime solutions;
  • Pioneer on new technical solutions by improving rigging solutions and introducing new animation techniques; 
  • Write scripting tools by using exploratory animation and improve the overall animation quality and fixing/improving existing solutions;
  • Push technical solutions directly related to animation, prototype your own technical solutions and own the animation pipeline; 
  • Create training and documentation for your fellow animators.

Our requirements

Are you a Technical Animator with the following experience? 

  • You have five years (or more) experience as a (Technical) Animator;
  • You have experience with creating animation state machines (Morpheme, ANT, Unreal or similar);
  • You have been responsible for the full implementation of character-, vehicle- and other similar assets; 
  • You know vector math and are comfortable with scripting (Python and/or similar);
  • You have experience with in game engine implementation, including ragdoll physics and cloth simulations.

Practical information

Scope: Full-time 40 hours per week and permanent position. For the right candidate, relocation aid is available.  

Location: Stockholm
